Do non-knitters receive a discount?

This is a chartered cruise exclusively for KNITopia participants. For that reason, everyone will be involved in some capacity and as such the price is the same for all guests. Thank you so much in advance for your understanding.

How do I book the KNITopia 2025 Danube River Cruise?

Fill out the KNITopia 2025 Danube River Cruise Booking Form here. Due to high demand, registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and must completed online.

How much is the deposit?

The nonrefundable deposit is $1125 per guest.

When does the cruise have to be paid in-full?

The payment schedule is as follows:

• $1125 per person nonrefundable deposit at time of booking

• 50% installment payment due on or before 10/14/2024

• Full Trip Balance and LeisureCare Travel Protection (optional) is due no later than 12/13/2024

What knitting activities are included? Who are the instructors?

I really want to go but I do not have a roommate yet. What should I put on the form?

You will need to select solo occupancy as the form will not let you submit for the second person without their information. If you do not find a roommate, please note that you will be responsible for the full solo occupancy cost displayed on the KNITopia 2025 Danube River Cruise Booking Form. We maintain a list of solo travelers interested in rooming with one another. Please notify us if you are interested via email at mhargarther@dreamvacations.com and we will provide you with necessary information to connect with each other.

I have questions about the cruise. Can I speak to someone on the phone?

We are happy to speak with you. With that said, please note that response time will be much longer during the initial booking process. Is there a savings for single passengers?

Rooms filled at single occupancy will receive a $587 per stateroom savings.

Can I select my cabin?

You can select the cabin category on the KNITopia 2025 Danube River Cruise Booking Form here. We encourage you to book online as cabin selections are made in the order we receive the forms. Visit the Deck Plans page here for additional specifics and pictures.

How do I know if my registration has been confirmed?

You will receive a confirmation email from Dream Vacations with your reservation number, cabin assignment, invoice and itinerary. We will make every effort to send your confirmation and reservation details as soon as possible. Please allow up to 14 days from time of submission.

How do I find out more information about the AmaMora?

How can I add LeisureCare insurance onto my reservation?

LeisureCare Travel Protection will automatically be applied onto your invoice at time of booking. The cost varies depending on stateroom selection and the land packages chosen. This can be removed upon request; however we recommend careful consideration before doing so. Do I need to purchase LeisureCare Luxury Travel Protection right away?

When can I book airfare?

Airfare will be available for purchase 330 days from the date of return.

I already have my own travel advisor. Can they book the cruise for me instead?

All bookings MUST be made thru Mara or Corey Hargarther with Dream Vacations. This is a chartered sailing and is not available for sale to the general public.

What is included with the cruise fare quoted?

The prices quoted include all taxes and fees, gratuities and beverage package. The pre-and post-cruise land packages along with LeisureCare Travel Protection are available for an additional cost.

Are excursions included in the price?

AmaWaterways includes an array of shore excursions at each port of call. Visit the Cruise Itinerary page here to view a sample of the offerings at each destination. These will open for booking approximately 60 days prior to sailing.

What is the cancellation penalty?

The penalty for cancellation before final payment is the forfeiture of the $2250 nonrefundable deposit. Refer to the supplier terms and conditions here for penalties for cancellations made fewer than 90 days before departure.

What if my roommate cancels their cruise before final payment?

You will be sent a new invoice with the solo occupancy rate. If you do not find a roommate, please note that you will be responsible for the full solo occupancy cost displayed on the KNITopia 2025 Danube River Cruise Booking Form. One guest from the original booking must travel as AmaWaterways does not permit double name-changes.

Is their a name-change fee?

We will allow one name change free of charge. Any additional name changes will incur a $50 fee.

The pre-and-post cruise land packages in Prague and Budapest are subject to availability at the time of booking and pricing may change.

What hotels will we be staying at on the pre-and-post cruise land packages in Prague and Budapest?

Hotels will be confirmed closer to departure. We will contact you as soon as more information becomes available.

Are the flights included in the quoted price?

No, flights will have to be purchased separately. Generally speaking, flights become available for booking 330 days from the return date of your trip. We will be able to provide pricing from the Air Department at AmaWaterways at that time. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

What is the closest major airport to Vilshofen?

The closest major airport to Vilshofen is Munich International Airport (MUC). There are nonstop flights available from the United States from United, Lufthansa, Delta and American Airlines.

Are airport transfers included?

Transfers are included with the pre-and-post-cruise land packages as well as for those who purchase their airfare thru AmaWaterways. We will email a form for those making independent arrangements closer to departure who wish to purchase group transfers for an additional cost. Meeting instructions at Munich International Airport (MUC) will be provided with your electronic travel documents.

What time can we board the ship in Vilshofen?

Boarding begins at approximately 3:00pm local time.

When do we have to be off the ship in Budapest?

All guests must disembark by 9:00am local time.

Where will the ship dock in Vilshofen and Budapest?

Docking locations in both cities will be provided with your electronic travel documents.

Can accommodations be made for dietary restrictions or medical conditions?

Do I need a passport?

All guests must have a valid passport for at least six months from the date of return.

Do I need a visa?

The European Union will soon be implementing the European Travel Information and Authorization System for all travelers entering from visa exempt countries. Travelers that are currently able to visit EU Schengen countries without a visa, will not need to apply for ETIAS until 2025. Additional information is forthcoming and we will update you as we continue to learn more about the new requirements.

What foreign currencies do I need?

Austria, Germany and Slovakia use the Euro (€) as their official currency. Hungary uses the Hungarian Forint. For those joining us on the pre-cruise land tour in Czech Republic, the official currency is the Czech Koruna.

How much currency should I bring?

We recommend that you bring $250 - $300 USD worth of Euros (€). Any additional currency can be obtained via ATM in the destination. Note that American Express and Discover are not commonly accepted in Europe. Visa and Mastercard are the most common forms of payment.

Is internet available onboard the AmaMora?

Internet usage is complimentary onboard the AmaMora.
